Council helps town centre firms customers’ alfresco
As part of the Council’s Recovery Programme, 65 businesses in town centre locations will benefit from the installation of new awnings to help them facilitate social distancing.
The awnings will also extend the business’ floor space through outdoor provision and provide shelter from the elements for customers queuing.
The total cost of the scheme is £160,000.

This investment is a key driver in improving the regeneration of our towns by helping retailers to operate safely and sustaining our local businesses.
“The awnings will have a significant impact on improving safety whilst boosting public confidence in our town centres. On behalf of the Council, I would like to once again thank the Department for Communities for their financial support to enable this scheme to be implemented at no cost to businesses.”
