Police cordoned off an area of Belfast city centre on Sunday morning following reports of a sudden death.
It is not yet known if the deceased person is male or female.
A Police Service of Northern Ireland spokesperson said: “Police are currently at the scene of a sudden death in the Academy Street area of Belfast city centre.
“There are no further details at present.”
