The Management & Leadership Network (MLN) has issued a reminder to time-pressured managers and employees to get ready for Management Month when it arrives in February next year.
The six-month reminder comes as the organisation re-launches its “development zone” initiative.
“The Development Zone is MLN’s way of helping busy professionals in a flexible way, where they can access support and expertise as and when they need i
t,’’ said MLN Operations Executive, Kevin Kelly.
“We want everyone to know that driving forward best practise in Management and Leadership is not a 30 day activity. It doesn’t begin and end with management month.”
“Our development zone is a fantastic resource for anyone employed in a management role, or even for those with ambitions for career progression and we want people to use it all year round.”
The development zone is an online resource centre packed with learning tools and information across a range of topics used in both management and general workplace.
The site has everything from the latest management-thinking to exercises where people can learn more about themselves and their career path.
It can be accessed at www.mln-dz.org.uk.
Another popular facility is the top ten tips section where users can get an at-a-glance view on tips for tackling unfamiliar or daunting tasks from budgets and balance-sheets to recruitment and retention.
It is designed for businesses to dip in and out as required.
“Many local managers don’t have time for textbooks and hours out of the office, in the Development Zone they have all the knowledge they need at their fingertips, all they have to do is register,” added Kevin.
In a further announcement today confirmed that Management Month has cemented its place in the business calendar as the concept has been granted full copyright status.
Chairman of the MLN board Mark Ennis, said the protection was a satisfying reward for MLN’s pioneering approach and that they now hoped to build partnerships with similar bodies internationally who wished to develop the concept.
He said: “We at MLN are proud of the Management Month project, and as the knowledge economy becomes ever more important this should be viewed as a serious asset for Northern Ireland PLC”.
