The search is on to find the finest example of best practice in the construction industry in the Province.
Constructing Excellence in Northern Ireland (CEni) is a centre of professional building expertise based at the University of Ulster, Jordanstown.
It represents all sectors of the construction industry and provides a unique bridge between supplier
s, contracting organisations, clients, consultants, Government and the research community.
In order to promote innovation in construction and distribute best practice knowledge, CEni is looking for Demonstration Projects and ‘Live construction projects’ which are innovating or applying an element of best practice that will ultimately lead to a step-change in project performance for the participating organisations.
Project participants must commit to learning and sharing from, and with, one another. They are invited to take part in communities of best practice which bring together like-minded individuals from across various demonstrations, all committed to delivering a demonstrably better built environment.
The findings and results from each project will then be presented and made available to the industry in a series of best practice case studies.
Organisations involved in demonstrations across the UK have made notable achievements in the following areas:
n Better predictability on cost and time
n Greater productivity than the industry average
n Reduced impact on the environment
n Fewer defects at handover
n Higher customer satisfaction scores
