Time to muzzle dogs
YET again another child is savaged by a dog, so I ask: how long will it take before a child is killed by such dogs?
With the exception of vermin, I love all animals, whether they be domesticated or wild, both species give a lot of joy to us, either as pets or seeing the wild variety on television or in the zoo.
All animals can inflict injury to people; it is an everyday occurrence. They need to be treated with respect and, more importantly, they need to be controlled.
Society now has dog wardens, who are primarily interested if a dog is licensed, poos in the street, or is running wild, admittedly carrying out their functions to the best of their ability that they were employed for.
Surely the time has arrived for politicians to make it mandatory that all dogs must be muzzled while in public.
Muzzling a dog is not an act of cruelty; it is akin to a driver wearing a seat belt.
Regulations to muzzle dogs must be introduced to prevent another child being maimed, crippled or killed by any dog.
