Two information events for Rural Community Network's 'Community Capacity Building Programme – Training for Trainers' are planned for Tuesday 29 July and Thursday 14 August.
The events will be held in RCN's offices, 38a Oldtown Street, Cookstown at 11am.
The Programme, which is now in its fifth year, is targeted at community development workers and those in statutory agencies who use community development methods, howev
er if you are involved in an unpaid role within your community, this Programme could also be for you. Participants should be working within the field of community development and have a remit/commitment to community based capacity building.
Aidan Campbell, Community Development Officer with Rural Community Network said 'The Programme is taught one day a week for six weeks in Cookstown during September and October and includes areas such as Community Development Principles and Values, Managing Group Learning, Reflective Practice and Evaluation.' Aidan continued 'The Programme was over subscribed last year and with only 25 places, I would urge anyone interested to contact the office.'
After completion, participants can choose to opt for the RCN Certificate of Training or complete additional work in order to obtain a BTEC Professional Certificate in Community Capacity Building (Level 4) accredited by Edexcel.
