NOW that the United Kingdom Government has helped the banks with their debt, should the banks not now help those who cannot pay their mortgages?
I appeal to the First Minister, the deputy First Minister and all the ministers and MLAs. I appeal to all MPs and MEPs. I appeal to the Churches, the trade unions, David Dunseith and Wendy Austin to bring all the power of their persuasion to make the banks stay their hand of execution.

It would be nothing short of a scandal and disgrace if anyone was thrown out of their homes because of the credit crunch after this wonderful Government action.

Surely a programme of prolonged grace can be arranged for those who find it hard to pay their mortgages off in time.

If enough people speak, something can be done. I hope there'll be other letters.
