Kelly showed no regret for actions

THE BBC documentary Breakout, in which senior IRA members were interviewed regarding the 1983 Maze escape, was quite revealing and engaging.
However, I was quite shocked to see Gerry Kelly, a minister within the Office of First Minister and Deputy First Minister, outline how he shot a prison officer at point-blank range in the head during an escape bid.
He showed no remorse or regret. In fact, he actually chuckled and made little of the criminality he was involved in.
Whilst this is deplorable, it is equally concerning that the DUP in general – and my MP Jeffrey Donaldson in particular – continue to participate as joint partners in government with unrepentant terrorists.
