Praise for Relief of Derry coverage
Published Date:

Like all good parties, it was over too quickly.
The 319th anniversary of the Relief of Derry was a glorious 12th that didn't have a shot fired in anger and, despite dire predictions of monsoons and Protestant apathy, it all came together for a most successful day.
The apparent triumph of the week-long rejuvenated Maiden City Festival, which culminated with last Saturday's thanksgiving parade, service and pageantry, owes much to the inspired attention of your paper.
All aspects of the festival were awarded appropriate attention but Darryl Armitage's Pre-12th supplement really established a unique standard for quality research and presentation.
The 12th and post-12th editions also provided a detail of presentation that has claimed justifiable praise in the Maiden City and elsewhere.
Congratulations to the News Letter.
