NORTH Belfast woman Lorraine Silo claimed God has performed two miracles this month – curing her hearing disability and her depression – during Elim church services.
The 39-year-old administrative worker in the Children's Hospice said she has attended the Elim Church in Tigers Bay for many years.
She said the first Sunday Pastor Brian Madden had returned from participating in Todd Bentley's services in Florida he called for anyone with hearing difficulties to come forward.
Lorraine's story comes after earlier claims from the Elim church that a "miracle" had saved 18-year-old Andrew Duffin's life and cured Alan Wallace's chronic fatigue syndrome.
Andrew, Alan and Lorraine's cases are being seen as part of an international Pentecostal healing movement which began in Florida.
Dozens of people are now attending nightly meetings in the Elim church in Tigers Bay – led by Pastor Brian Madden.
Lorraine, who suffered from a disease in her ears which involves "a crumbling of the bones which block your main eardrum" said she felt she had nothing to lose by going forward.
She said she was practically deaf in her left ear.
"I had my right ear drum operated on 14 years ago," she said.
"They could have operated on my left ear but they said there was a risk with the operation that I could go totally deaf.
"The Pastor prayed over me and my left ear popped. I screamed when it happened because it frightened me. But from then my hearing was restored."
Lorraine said the restoration of her hearing is so incredible she can't stop talking about it.
"It is so incredible in the sense that I was always asking people to repeat themselves. I can't believe this has happened but it has.
"I have even made an appointment with the hospital to get medical proof that my hearing is restored. I know it has, but I want to make sure I had medical proof to show other people."
Lorraine added that after her hearing miracle she attended the church every night and on the evening Pastor Brian asked for people with depression to come forward to ask God for healing she decided to try once again.
"My mum died when she was only 47 from breast cancer. At that stage I was 21-years-old and eight weeks married. She was my best friend. Ever since then I have suffered depression on and off at least once a year."
Lorraine said almost every year she has been off work for a few months with depression.
"I even reached a point where I wanted to commit suicide. But something stopped me from doing it. And that something was God. I have two children – a girl and a boy – and that did not even stop me. It was an awful black hole of depression and I had reached the bottom of that black hole."
Lorraine admits she did not find it easy to get up in front of a hall full of people admitting you suffered from depression.
"I cannot describe the relief the healing God gave me that night.
"A great weight was been lifted from me. Every single hurt in my life has gone. My mind is renewed and I have become a totally new person.
"I just cannot believe the change God has made in my life and I want God to know about his power."
