Ballynahinch fire leaves 30 homeless

A FIRE in Ballynahinch which has left as many as 30 people homeless is not being treated as suspicious, police have confirmed.
Emergency services rescued four people from the blaze at a three-storey block of flats in the Loughside Drive area of the town on Tuesday.

Fire crews rescued a man and woman trapped on the top floor and an elderly man on the ground floor.

Ambulance teams helped another man to safety.

No one was injured but 12 flats were destroyed and residents were forced to spend the night in a nearby hotel.
