A 41-YEAR-OLD man, who was assaulted at a caravan park in Fermanagh and who suffered a head injury in the attack, has died at the Erne Hospital in Enniskillen.
The victim, who has been named by police as James Patrick McGauran, 41, from Kestrel Grange in Dunmurry, Belfast, was found by a passer-by at Castle Archdale Country Park caravan park, a scenic beauty spot, at around 10pm on Sunday.
A post morten examination is due to be carried out to determine how he died.
Mr McGauran died on Tuesday afternoon.
A man aged in his 30s was arrested by police following the serious assault and he remains in police custody.
It is understood both men knew each other.
It is also understood the deceased was a member of the biking fraternity and was one of a group of friends who had stopped off at the caravan park on their way back from the North West 200.
Mr Elliott, the UUP MLA for the area, said it was a very sad outcome for the victim's family.
He expressed his condolences to the family.
"This is another death there was no need for.
"I hope there is a resolution to whatever has happened," he said.
DUP councillor Bert Johnston condemned the assault.
"I would condemn any attacks on anybody.
"We don't know the circumstances of what happened.
"That is in my district electoral area of North Fermanagh.
"I would condemn any attack on people on holiday.
"We try to welcome people to these beauty spots, what we are trying to do is attract them," he said.
Police have appealed for anyone with information about the incident to get in contact with them.
