A 42-YEAR-OLD man arrested by police in connection with the discovery of a mortar bomb in Armagh has been released withou charge.
Bomb disposal experts were called in to deal with a suspicious device in the Friary Road area of the city on Thursday after a member of the public raised the alarm.
The bomb is thought to have included a pipe and a command wire.
District Commander Chief Superintendent Alasdair Robinson described the device as "capable of causing serious injury or indeed death".
The security alert has been blamed on dissident republicans.
