FINANCE Minister Peter Robinson will receive an appraisal of the business plan for a new multi-sports stadium on Friday.
It is thought the cost of building a stadium at the former Maze prison site will be much higher than originally forecast.

Sources close to the project are indicating the disparity could be as much as tens of millions of pounds.

The receipt of the appraisal comes as speculation grows that a multi-sports stadium at the Maze will be scrapped by the Executive, despite opposition from Sinn Fein.

Mr Robinson has already indicated if the Maze stadium did not go ahead then other avenues will be explored for the site.

A firm decision by the Stormont Executive is expected before the end of the month
