THE 17-year-old boy killed in an accident involving two mopeds this weekend had said he feared dying.
Thomas James English, who died following the crash on Friday night, was the son of leading loyalist Thomas English, who was shot dead in front of his wife eight years ago during a loyalist feud.

Friday night's accident took place on the Carntall
Road in Newtownabbey and the teenager, who was from Ballyfore Gardens in the nearby Ballyduff area, died later of his injuries.

The dead teenager had written on his Bebo website: "I am scared of DEATH!!"

Friends have been telling of their sadness at Thomas's death and paying tribute to their pal on the webpage.

Last night local independent councillor Tommy Kirkham, who knew the dead boy's father, said the stretch of road where he was killed was very dangerous.

"Several people have been killed on this road over several years — there are lots of piles of flowers left at the side of the road and only three or four weeks ago there was a serious accident there," he said.

Meanwhile, a woman is fighting for her life last night after a weekend of fresh tragedy on the roads.

The 70-year-old woman was knocked down on Friday evening at Church Road in Newtownabbey shortly before 6pm.
