THE labourer who died on Friday in an accident involving a dumper truck was a "quiet and religious man", his family said last night.
Colin Glass, 53, from Dervock died when the dumper truck he was working in toppled down a hill at a building site on the Priestland Road in Bushmills.

The grandfather-of-two is survived by his wife Doreen, daughter Trina and his step-daughter Tru
dy.

Speaking to the News Letter, Mr Glass’s brother-in-law, Jackie Morrison, said: “He was a quiet and religious man who was devoted to his family.

“He was a skilled labourer who could turn his hand to anything.”

Mr Morrison went on to say that Mr Glass had been a big fan of Joey Dunlop and had regularly gone to watch road racing in Northern Ireland.

He also said that his brother-in-law was very conscious of health and safety throughout his career in labouring.

It is not yet clear how the accident took place and Mr Morrison said that investigations are continuing into the tragedy.

The accident took place at about 2pm on Friday at a building site where holiday homes were under construction.

The Health and Safety Executive sent an investigator to the site on Friday and police appealed for witnesses to contact them.

Mr Glass’s funeral will take place tomorrow at Ballymoney Church of God and he will be buried at Drumtullagh Church.
