A convicted sex offender today (Thursday, March 30) admitted sexually assaulting a nurse.
At Craigavon Crown Court defence barrister Conor Luney asked for the single charge to be put to 60-year-old Samuel Frederick Pinkerton again and he then pleaded guilty to sexual assault on 6 September last year.
No facts were outlined to the court but it is understood the victim is a nurse at Craigavon Area Hospital where the incident occurred.
This is not the first time that Pinkerton, previously with an address at Aughnacloy but now c/o Maghaberry prison, has offended at the hospital.
At the time of this offence, he was on prison licence having served half his sentence for outraging public decency by masturbating in the public waiting area of the A&E department on 16 March, 2014.
Remanding Pinkerton back into custody and ordering pre-sentence reports, Judge Donna McColgan QC said she would pass sentence on May 11.
