ARMOY: Michael Dunlop romps to record sixth 'Race of Legends' triumph
The 27-year-old, who has been in vintage form this season following his record-breaking wins in the Superbike class at the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT, was a level above his rivals as he won the blue riband race by 4.5 seconds on his MD Racing BMW from Dublin man Derek Sheils, who claimed the runner-up spot on the Cookstown B.E. Racing Suzuki.
William Dunlop put the MMB Yamaha R1 onto the rostrum in third place to claim the man of the meeting award following his Supersport double and brace of podiums in the Superbike races.

Hide AdHis brother Michael’s success in the showpiece event secured a big bike double for the ‘Maverick’ following his victory earlier in the in the Open Superbike race from Sheils and William Dunlop.
Isle of Man rider Dan Kneen finished fifth on the Mar-Train Yamaha after overshooting at Robbo’s hairpin, while the top six in the ‘Race of Legends’ was rounded out by Michael Sweeney from Skerries on his Kawasaki.
The race was restarted over the reduced distance of six laps following an incident at Church Bends, which is not believed to be serious.
Next up for Dunlop is the MCE Ulster Grand Prix at Dundrod from August 10-13, where he will be aiming to continue his red-hot run of form in the premier Superbike class at the major international meetings in 2016.
