The Odyssey complex in Belfast is not likely to open this morning due to a power failure.

The complex is comprised of an entertainment and eatery section area called The Pavilion and the giant SSE Arena.

The SSE Arena hosts huge sporting and music events, and was named after Scottish and Southern Electricity in 2014.

It was formerly known simply as the Odyssey Arena.

A statement via one its social media accounts said: “Odyssey complex power failure 2.30am this morning & as a result will be unable to open as normal this morning.”

It is the latest headache for the venue, which less than a fortnight ago was forced to cancel two Little Mix concerts at extremely short notice due to one of the performers falling ill.
