Body found in search for missing John Thompson

At present, police are not treating the death as suspicious.

At the weekend, police had said his family were becoming increasingly concerned for his whereabouts.

A PSNI spokesman on Sunday that he was last seen around midday on Saturday in the Portstewart area.

He was described as being 5’10” tall, with dark brown hair and when last seen he was wearing blue 3/4 length shorts and a red raincoat.

It was believed that John may have had a bicycle with his at the time he went missing.
