The body of a man found in Ballymoney yesterday evening could be that of Michael ‘Mikey’ Hanna who went missing two weeks ago, police believe.
The death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage but the body has yet to be formally identified.
Mr Hanna, who was 24, was last seen in the Westgate area of the Co Antrim town on July 16 around 11am.
Last weekend his family had appealed for information about his whereabouts - and the PSNI put up posters across the Ballymoney area with a photograph of Michael and a full description of his clothing. Police also put posters on the side of a van and toured the areas where the 24-year-old was known to have frequented.
A further appeal for anyone with information to come forward was made in this week’s Ballymoney & Moyle Times.
Anyone with information on Michael’s movements since his disappearance earlier this month can contact detectives in Coleraine on the non emergency number 101.
