Randox Laboratories has announced the expansion of its market presence in the United States, with confirmation of a major supplier agreement with Novation, the largest hospital and healthcare purchasing organisation in America.

The contract means that the Crumlin firm’s third party quality control products, will now be readily available to Novation members across the country.

Quality Control is the bedrock of patient blood testing as it helps laboratories assure accuracy in their testing procedures as errors could result in misdiagnosis and inappropriate or delayed treatment, which coiuld ultimately be life threatening.

Novation manages purchasing contracts for more than 600 suppliers including VHA, United Healthcare, Children’s Hospital Association and Provista LLC.

In 2012 their combined purchasing power amounted to almost $43 billion, a marketplace in which Randox aims to take a firm foothold.

“This deal is a strategically important step in Randox’s expansion in the US, and we are delighted that our world-leading QC products will now be available for use in many more laboratories throughout the States,” said Steven Jordan, global business manager of Randox QC.

“I am confident that the quality and range of products available from Randox will make us stand out in the Novation supplier portfolio.”
