The giant screen in Bruce Street features animated characters presenting news, weather, sport and traffic information.

As part of its “giving back” company ethos Value Cabs has developed a “Business of the Week” slot for the channel and one chosen business will be featured thousands of times over a seven day period offering it the chance to maximise and reinforce its brand.

“We never stop thinking of new ways of engaging the public,” said Value Cabs owner Christopher McCausland.

“This screen is not just an advertising tool, we wanted something different.

“We like our branding viewed in a new way but we also wanted to give our customers a platform and reward them for their loyalty.

“It helps us and it also allows us to give something back to the city,” he said.

The campaign and network has been designed and streamed by RedBox Creative, a local content provision company which was recently named Creative Business of the Year in the Belfast Business Awards.

“We had to come up with an innovative system to give Value Cabs the ability to update branded information around the clock using animations, real time graphic design and social media,” said Cormac O’Kane of RedBox.

“Everything is made here at our studios and is sent out live on a daily basis.”
