Flights in and out of Belfast could be affected by a five-day strike by French air traffic controllers, Belfast Airport has said.

The Airport is advising people to check with their airlines before travelling to the airport.

In a tweet, Belfast Airport said: “A French Air Traffic Control strike from 6th-10th Mar may impact flights to and from Belfast. Check with your airline for latest flight info.”

Staff at control centers in Brest, Aix-en-Provence and Bordeaux called a five-day strike from Monday, March 6 over issues including rostering and pay.

It is affecting a range of airlines that use the airspace, with the French Civil Aviation Authority requesting airlines reduce their schedules across west and south west France.
