FOLLOWING two acclaimed solo shows at the Royal Albert Hall in London last year, Gary Barlow has announced a full UK and Ireland tour which will see the Take That frontman perform, with special guests, at Belfast’s Waterfront Hall on Januray 8.
“I’m really excited about these dates,” says Gary, who is currently filling Simon Cowell’s boots as head judge on The X-Factor. “Playing live is my favourite thing and I haven’t played a solo show for over a year now. Last year playing two London shows was brilliant, we all had such a good time, so I thought, right, let’s get out and see the rest of the country.”
Performing songs spanning his lengthy music career from his Take That days to flying solo, Gary will kick off proceedings at Bournemouth’s International Centre in November before taking in Plymouth, Edinburgh, Nottingham, London, Sheffield, Manchester, Newcastle, Wolverhampton, Oxford, Liverpool, Blackpool, Cardiff and Dublin, finishing up at the Waterfront Hall, Belfast on January 8.
After 20 years in the business, over 50 million records sold, eight No 1 albums, 14 No 1 singles and six Ivor Novello Awards, Gary Barlow is undoubtedly one of pop’s most successful singer/songwriters. Together with Howard Donald, Jason Orange, Mark Owen and Robbie Williams he helped create the 90s pop magic that was Take That.
Gary was recently named in the Queen’s birthday honours list and was awarded an OBE for his huge contribution to British music. Gary recently organised the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert outside Buckingham Palace, gathering together some of the biggest names to perform including Paul McCartney, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Tom Jones, Kylie Minogue, Shirley Bassey, and Grace Jones.
