Plans to create new Grade A office accommodation at Belfast’s rejuvenated Gasworks site could provide opportunities for 500 new jobs developers have claimed.
The proposal, to be submitted by Inislyn Ltd, is for 6,485m2 of Grade A office space and modification of the existing Radisson Blu Hotel car park at Cromac Place.
A process of pre-application community consultation is being carried out for a new development with a further 50 jobs created during the construction phase.
The site is part of a number of development subplot parcels which have been identified together as the ‘Northern Fringe’ and considered as the last phase of the Gasworks estate.
As the most advanced stage of development within this area, the proposal will act as a catalyst for the overall masterplan, allowing completion of the Gasworks as originally envisaged.
“We are delighted to bring forward plans for this office development in the Gasworks,” said Inislyn director Neil MacLaren.
“It has been well documented that there is a real lack of Grade A office accommodation in Belfast and this proposal will help to fulfil that demand.
“The job creation associated with the new offices, as well as benefits to the local retail and hospitality sector are also significant. Furthermore, the completion of this part of the Gasworks will create much greater integration within South Belfast.”
