KILREA based Hutchinson Engineering has been named manufacturing company of the year at Insider Media’s Made in Northern Ireland Awards 2016, a celebration of the very best in manufacturing, design and product development.

Hosted at the La Mon Hotel & Country Club and sponsored by Jumpstart, Tughans and Atradius, the awards give recognition and reward to manufacturing companies that have demonstrated success in innovation, product development and growth in either domestic or overseas markets.

Hutchinson was praised for modernising through advanced equipment acquisition and winning new partners in the engineering sector, in particular by sister company Hutchinson AeroTech.

“Hutchinson Engineering has demonstrated that investing in leadership, the team and the business brings great success,” said Insider’s special publications editor Philip Cunliffe.

“It continues to modernise through advanced equipment and has reached out to win new partners in new engineering sections, most notably demonstrated by the creation of Hutchinson Aerotech.”

The business now goes through to compete against the rest of the country at the Insider’s Made in the UK Awards.

“We are delighted to be named NI’s Manufacturer of the Year as it reflects how far we have come as a company,” said MD Mark Hutchinson.

“To be highlighted among some of the very best manufacturing companies in Northern Ireland is a fantastic accolade for us and I want to thank all the staff for their hard work and continued support.

“Since launching in 2011, Hutchinson AeroTech has formed key partnerships with some of the best in the industry, which helped us secure our footing in the sector.”
