Jerry Buting, the star of hit Netflix documentary series ‘Making a Murderer’ is to appear as the guest speaker at the European Young Bar Association Spring conference in Belfast.
The event, hosted by the Northern Ireland Young Solicitors’ Association, will take place from April 7-9 and is coming to the city for only the third time.
“Having dedicated my life to the legal profession, I am grateful to be able to attend such a wonderful event and help young lawyers in any way I can,” said Mr Buting ahead of the event.
“The Stephen Avery case was exceptionally challenging and ultimately disappointing, however, the “Making a Murderer” documentary has captured the public imagination and has got many young people interested in the legal profession once more.”
“Belfast is a wonderful city which has really progressed in recent years, and, in addition, I have family ties in Co Antrim, so I’m genuinely excited for the event and trip to Northern Ireland.”
The three day conference will commence on April 7, with the main academic conference taking place at Ten Square Hotel on Friday, April 8 and a full programme of social events planned for the weekend.
