Challenging the Mormon faith in US

A MAN who can trace his roots back to the early days of Mormonism has his sights firmly set on the White House in Washington. His great-great grandfather, Parley P. Pratt, was among the first leaders of the figment of Joseph Smith’s imagination, otherwise known as the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints (LDS).

Willard Mitt Romney was born in 1947, the son of George Romney, a former Governor of Michigan.

Mr Romney Jr was Governor of Massachusetts between 2003-2007. Mr Romney is very skilful at portraying himself as pro-life, pro-family and pro-traditional marriage when in conservative circles, and equally skilful at flying the pro-choice and “gay” rainbow flag when his audience expects it.

He stated (in 2002) that he will protect a woman’s right to choose and some years ago his wife gave a donation to Planned Parenthood (the US equivalent of FPA).

Mr Romney’s religion was considered a cult in times past, but now wants to be brought in from the cold and labelled “Christian”, despite the fact that its founder, Joseph Smith, claims he was told by God that all the Christian churches of his day (the 1820s) were an “abomination”.

The Mormon temple ceremony even mocked Christian ministers as being in the pay of the devil. Mormon doctrine has never been Christian; they have another gospel and another Jesus.

Mitt Romney is surely embarrassed by his Mormon heritage and it will be downplayed or ignored as it could hurt his Presidential bid. He is projecting a carefully groomed image, just like his church. However, in reality, he is ‘Mr Facing-Both-Ways’, in policy, and his church is facing both ways in religion, portraying itself as Christian whilst retaining its un-Christian doctrines.

US voters living here, be warned!
