Arrests over Holylands arson attack

A trio of arrests have been made over an arson attack on a car in the Holylands, Belfast.

The attack happened in the Carmel Street area at around 4.30am, and the car was extensively damaged during the incident.

It was also reported that damage was caused to nearby parked cars too.

Three males, two aged 17 and one aged 25, were arrested a short time later on suspicion of arson, attempted taking-and-driving-away, theft and criminal damage.

All three were interviewed and released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Police wave appealed for witnesses to the incident to come forward by contacting them at Lisburn Road Police Station by dialling 101.
