A 27-year old man appeared in court on Friday where he was charged with murdering his father and attempting to murder his mother.
Gregory Lamont, who is currently residing at Knockbracken Healthcare Park on Belfast’s Saintfield Road, denies killing his 64-year old father John and attempting to murder his mother Elizabeth Lamont, 60 (pictured).
The couple were stabbed in a house in the Carnvale area of Ballymena on January 15 last year.
Lamont appeared at Antrim Crown Court, sitting in Belfast, and after each of the two charges were put to him, he replied “not guilty.”
Prosecutor Paul Ramsey said the Crown are awaiting medical reports on behalf of the accused, which are expected at the end of this month.
Mr Judge Weir listed the case for further review on February 21, 2014 and Lamont was returned to Knockbracken,
