Boy shot with pellet gun, north Belfast


A 16-year-old boy was assaulted before being shot with a pellet gun in a sectarian hate crime in the Ballygomartin Road area of north Belfast last night.

A PSNI spokesman said the incident was reported to have happened at 10.50pm.

“It is believed the male was shot a number of times by a pellet gun to his upper body during the incident,” said a PSNI spokesman. “He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment to his injuries, that are not believed to be life threatening.

“At this stage, police are treating the incident as a sectarian hate crime.”
