Dungannon and west Belfast security alerts declared hoaxes

Police dealt with security alerts in Belfast and Dungannon yesterday but both were eventually declared to be hoaxes.

The PSNI were called to a report of a suspicious object on the Bell Steele Road on the outskirts of west Belfast yesterday afternoon.

The road was closed between the Brian’s Well Road and the Stewartstown Road while the suspect device was examined by ATO. It reopened around 7.30pm.

Market Square in Dungannon was closed from just before 5pm for around an hour before the all-clear was given.
