Two people have been charged with 25 offences relating to the theft of more than £1,500 worth of fuel over a nine-month period.

The 26-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man are due to appear in court in Lisburn on February 25 charged with the offences which relate to ‘bilking’.

The term refers to incidents where a driver will fill up their vehicle with fuel and leave the forecourt without paying.

The incidents of theft took place across four police districts in Northern Ireland between March last year and this month.
