A family has escaped injury after a shot was fired through the window of a house in Co Londonderry.

The incident took place in the Drumard Road area of Draperstown on Saturday, May 10 around 10pm.

Police are working to establish a motive and are appealing to anyone who was in the Drumard Road area on Saturday night and noticed anything suspicious to contact them.

Detectives are also keen to hear from landowners in the area to rule out the possibility the shot was linked any legitimate activity on their lands.

The PSNI can be contacted at Magherafelt police station on the non-emergency number 101, or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
