Gang flees empty-handed after failed robbery in Dungannon

Four men fled empty-handed after attempting to rob a Co Tyrone shop on Sunday.

Around 4.20pm, the four men, one armed with a hammer, entered the shop in Scotch Street and demanded money from a member of staff working at a cash register.

The staff member was able to get away to alert a colleague while one of the gang hit the till with the hammer.

The four men made off without any money being handed over.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the attempted robbery or noticed any suspicious cars in the area around the time of the incident.
