Drugs detectives have seized a massive 1.4 million euro (£1.08 million) heroin haul in central Dublin.

A man has been arrested in connection with the recovery in the south inner city on Wednesday.

The raid on a premises was carried out as part of Operation Thistle, which is targetting organised criminals in the capital’s southside.

The suspect, in his 30s, is being questioned at Kevin Street Garda Station under the Drug Trafficking Act.

Cannabis with an estimated street value of 10,000 euro (£7,715) was also seized during the planned search.
