Man arrested after Bangor double shooting released


A 41-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with a double shooting in Bangor has been released unconditionally.

Two men - aged 24-years and 33-years - were shot on February 10 as they sat in a car in the Whitehill estate in the north Down town.

One of the men was shot in the chest and the other was shot in the leg.

A PSNI spokesman said: “The arrested male was detained during the search of a property in the Whitehill estate this morning. Officers also carried out a search in the Kilcooley area.

“A number of items have been removed for examination.”

Police announced on Friday morning that the man had been released unconditionally.
