Man arrested in serious crime probe

A 30-year-old man has been arrested in south Belfast as part of an investigation into serious crime.

A PSNI spokesman said two properties were also searched yesterday in Newtownards and a number of items including ammunition and suspected drugs removed for further examination.

Detective Chief Inspector Dougie Grant, from PSNI Cyber Crime Centre, said: “The suspect is being questioned at a Belfast police station and our enquiries are continuing.”

The investigation is not understood to be related to dissident terrorist activity.
