A man escaped serious injury last night when his footwear saved him after he was shot in both feet in a gun attack.

Police in north Belfast are investigating a shooting incident at a house at Cranbrook Gardens around 11.20pm when three men “took a male occupant, aged in his 30’s, outside” and “he was shot in both feet”.

“The bullets failed to penetrate the man’s footwear however, and the man was taken to hospital with minor injuries to his feet,” he added.

Inspector Snoddy has appealed for anyone with any information about this incident to contact detectives in Musgrave on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
