A man sustained a “serious head injury” during a fight in north Belfast in the early hours of today.

Detectives who are investigating an incident at Shore Crescent, north Belfast, said they received a report of a fight at around 12.30am.

A PSNI spokesman said when police arrived “a man was found unconscious in the street” and “another man was located in the vicinity with a number of injuries”.

The spokesman said both men were taken to hospital for treatment “with one of the men suffering from a serious head injury”.

He said three men - aged 22-years, 29-years, 50-years and a 24-year-old woman have been arrested in relation to the incident and remain in custody at this time.

“Inquiries into the incident are ongoing and I would ask anyone with any information to contact detectives at Reactive and Organised Crime Branch in Musgrave on 101 quoting reference number 49 11/06/16 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111,” he said.
