A man found murdered in a flat in north Belfast has been named by police as 35-year-old Eamonn Ferguson.

The body was found around 3am today in a flat at Ardoyne Place.

Two men have been arrested.

Police have opened an incident room at Musgrave police station.

They are appealoing for anyone with information to come forward.

North Belfast Sinn Féin MLA Carál Ní Chuilín has told of the community’s shock.

She said: “This death is deeply shocking for local people and the community’s thoughts are with the family of the deceased person.

“Ardoyne is a tight-knit community and news of this death has come as a shock to everyone. I would appeal to anyone with any information to bring it forward as soon as possible.”
