Nothing untoward has been found during a security alert in east Belfast.

Earlier the Sydenham Road was closed after the discovery of a suspicious object.

Later a PSNI spokesman confirmed the security alert had ended.

“ATO examined a suspicious object discovered in the area and have declared it to be nothing untoward.,” a PSNI spokesman said.

“All roads in the area have now reopened.”
