Two men have been arrested by police in the village of Hillsborough, amid suspicion they were involved in planning the importation of Class A drugs
Officers from PSNI Reactive and Organised Crime Branch made the arrests of the paid, who are aged 33 and 46.
They were held on “suspicion of conspiracy to import heroin and possession of heroin with intent to supply”.
It came after their car was stopped by police at Hillsborough on Monday evening.
The PSNI said both are currently “helping police with their enquiries”.
In a statement, Detective Inspector Andy Dunlop said: “No drugs have yet been seized but our enquiries are continuing.
“I would appeal to anyone involved in the supply of heroin to consider those who suffer daily from misuse of this killer drug.
“Anyone convicted of supplying heroin can expect to face a lengthy period in prison.”
