Two men have been charged with hijacking following an incident in Londonderry.

They are due to appear at Londonderry Magistrates Court tomorrow (Friday).

A PSNI spokesperson said a 22-year-old man has been charged with hijacking, theft and five motoring offences, while a 23-year-old man has been charged with hijacking and five motoring offences.

It is believed the charges are in conection with a vehicle hijacking in the Little Diamond area on Wednesday evening.

The driver of a Kia Picanto car was coming from Free Derry Corner towards the Northland Road when he was stopped by a man standing in the road. He was ordered out of his vehicle and his car was then driven off.
