Pensioner involved in garden traffic crash dead

A man who was driving a vehicle which crashed into a garden in Co Down has died.

The crash happened on the Comber Road between Lisburn and Carryduff on Thursday night.

It involved one vehicle.

On Friday morning the Ambulance Service said that they had received a report of a crash at 7.27pm.

It was believed the man was in his 70s.

Thr Ambulance Service sent three vehicles to the scene, but the man was not taken to hospital.

Police described the crash as “serious” at the time, and then confirmed on Friday morning that the man had in fact died.

A post mortem is now set to be carried out.
