Police probe hammer attack on man in Shankill estate

Police are appealing for information after a hammer attack on a man in the Shankill estate in Belfast.

The attack on a 24-year-old man took place shortly after 11pm last night when he was assaulted by a group of males.

Detective Sergeant Michelle Griffin would appeal to anyone who witnessed this assault to contact the Case Progression Team at Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1667 27/08/16.

Police would also like to hear from anyone who witnessed any anti-social behaviour or vehicles being driven dangerously in that area at the time of this incident to also contact them.
