Religious items stolen in window-smashing raid

Two chalices – one gold and the other silver – have been stolen from a parochial house in Warrenpoint.

A front window was smashed and two rooms ransacked in the early hours of Saturday at the parochial house of Saint Peter’s Chapel.

Detective Sergeant Paul Murphy said a number of valuable items were stolen in the raid, which unfolded sometime between 1am and 3am.
