Police have questioned three men after a man and woman reported being threatened in their Short Strand home on Tuesday evening.

Around 7pm two men entered the house of the couple and their child in Madrid Street.

They then made off towards the Mountpottinger Road in a silver coloured VW Passat car.

A police patrol stopped a car matching that description at Clifton Street a short time later and arrested three occupants.

All were later released on bail pending further police enquiries.

Detective Inspector Nigel Snoddy has appealed for anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the Madrid Street area around that time, or who has any information which could assist police with their enquiries to contact detectives at Musgrave on 101 - or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
