Two Polish men assaulted along Lagan towpath

Two Polish men have been assaulted by a gang of men along the Lagan towpath in the early hours of Saturday, June 21.

A racially motivated hate crime is one line of inquiry currently being investigated by police.

The assault happened at 2.20am between Bridge Street and Hill Street.

The men - aged 36-years and 32-years - both required medical treatment for their injuries which are not thought to be life threatening.
